Green Class really enjoyed welcoming families into the classroom for Play and Stay sessions this week. Children were excited to share their learning and proudly showcase the activities they have been exploring as part of Black History Month. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to see the children’s interests, achievements and growing confidence.

This week, children have also been busy investigating pumpkins. They explored the inside of the pumpkins and used tweezers to carefully pick out the seeds. This fun activity helped to strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers, supporting their developing fine motor skills. Children showed great concentration and curiosity as they explored the different textures and learned more about how pumpkins grow.

The pumpkin seeds will soon be planted in the allotment, where children will care for them and watch them grow. This hands-on experience will help them develop an understanding of the natural world and the life cycle of plants while encouraging responsibility and patience.
