Red Class at The Limes has enjoyed a busy start to Black History Month, exploring the wonderful book Bodies Are Cool. The children have shown lots of interest in sharing the book together and talking about our bodies, what makes us unique, and the things that make us special.
Using mirrors, the children carefully looked at their faces and features, noticing similarities and differences between themselves and their friends. These conversations supported their growing sense of identity and helped them develop confidence in talking about themselves and others in a positive way.
Many children have also been enjoying mark making activities. They have been independently creating pictures, expressing their ideas and developing their fine motor skills through drawing and creative exploration.
The children also had a fantastic time on their trip to the park. It was lovely for everyone to meet together, explore the outdoor environment and enjoy spending time with their friends.
