This week in Green Class at The Limes, children have been exploring their new Core Book, Chapatti Moon. The story has sparked lots of interest and excitement, especially as it has inspired hands-on experiences in the classroom.

The children have been busy in the kitchen, learning how to make their own chapattis. They carefully measured ingredients, mixed and kneaded dough, and watched with curiosity as their chapattis cooked. These experiences support early mathematical thinking as children practise measuring and sequencing, while also developing their fine motor skills through rolling and shaping the dough. There has been plenty of language development too, with children talking about textures, ingredients and the changes they could see happening.

Sharing Chapatti Moon together has also encouraged children to engage with stories, build their understanding of the world, and connect their learning to meaningful, real-life experiences. It has been wonderful to see their pride as they create and enjoy something they have made themselves.
