Last week we had two very special Proud to Be Me parades for our wonderful children.
This was the end of our learning about Pride month, where we talked about what makes us special and how we are all unique. The children explored the Pride flag and learned about rainbows, thinking about the symbolism of different colours. We have also explored making rainbows by shining lights through prisms! We’ve explored the ways we’d like to express ourselves by reading stories about dressing up and dressing up in lots of fun ways ourselves.
We’ve also made self-portraits where the children used half a photo of themselves and responded to it on the other half of the paper. It’s been a lovely month of learning about ourselves and others, and celebrating who we are. The Proud to be Me parade was a perfect ending to this, where every child had the opportunity to be cheered on by their friends as they walked.
Photos of the parade will be on Tapestry for you to enjoy!
