Rosemary Nursery School had a brilliantly creative World Book Day this year, with staff bringing one of our favourite core books to life in the most exciting way!
The children were treated to a non-verbal performance of There’s a Shark in the Park, with staff acting out the story and the children joining in with the repeated refrains and helping to tell the tale along the way. It was joyful and captivating – exactly what World Book Day should be!
What made it extra special was that the children became storytellers themselves, taking turns as both audience and narrator. The confidence and enthusiasm they showed was just brilliant to see, and it is a wonderful reminder of how powerful shared storytelling can be for developing language, memory and a genuine love of books.
