This week in Children’s Kitchen, children developed their fine motor skills through chopping, smashing mint, and using a lemon juicer whilst creating a delicious mint and cucumber dip. Each of these actions requires precise hand movements and control, building the strength and coordination needed for many everyday tasks including future writing.
This hands-on cooking experience also supported children’s growing awareness of nutritious and healthy food choices, helping them understand that fresh ingredients can be combined to create tasty and wholesome snacks. Through cooking, children learn about where food comes from, how to prepare it safely, and the importance of eating well whilst developing independence and life skills.
