This week in Yellow Room we have been exploring our core book “Dear Zoo,” engaging deeply with the story and its characters. The children have been exploring the animals, describing them to their friends whilst using rich vocabulary, and building them maps and homes to live in through creative construction and imaginative play.
We have also been investigating pinecones in the garden, asking curious questions such as “what happens when we add foam?” and “what patterns can we see?” The children have been exploring textures and observing how materials change, developing their scientific thinking through hands-on discovery and sensory exploration.
