To celebrate World Grandparents Day on Sunday 5th October, Yellow and Orange Room held the first of two special stay and play sessions for grandparents this week. It was lovely welcoming grandparents into the nursery and seeing how proud and excited the children were to show them their classroom and share their learning environment.
During the session, children and their grandparents worked together to make fruit salads, developing healthy eating habits whilst spending quality time together. They also decorated a grandparents day poem, creating a special keepsake to take home. These intergenerational experiences strengthen family bonds whilst supporting children’s communication skills and sense of identity within their wider family network.
We look forward to welcoming more grandparents to our second session soon!
