Introducing Jigsaw

This week, we have been introducing Jigsaw to children, a mindful approach to Personal, Social, and Health Education that focuses on developing children’s emotional literacy, resilience, and social skills. We encourage children to slowly breathe in and breathe out whilst considering how this makes them feel, using words like calm and relaxed to label these emotions. This supports children in recognising and understanding their own feelings, an essential skill for their emotional development.

Our Core Book: So Much

Our core book this week is called “So Much,” a wonderful story that explores family love and togetherness. If you would like to share this book with your child at home, please follow this link or watch the video below.

Helicopter Stories

At The Limes, we encourage children to tell their own imaginative stories whilst an adult scribes these narratives, helping children develop their communication skills and creative thinking. We build up to children re-enacting their own original story ideas with a group of their peers in what we call Helicopter Stories. This approach strengthens children’s confidence in storytelling and collaborative play. If your child shares a story with us, we add it to Tapestry for you to view their creative work.
