This week, we introduced our new book “Dear Zoo” by Rod Campbell, and the children have loved the story, engaging deeply with the narrative and characters whilst developing their communication and language skills. In response to this, the children showed a tremendous interest in making animals using recycled materials, bringing their favourite characters from the book to life through creative construction and design.
We have also started our weekly bread-baking sessions, making bread rolls in small groups so that everyone will have a turn throughout the term. This hands-on experience helps children develop turn-taking skills and learn to work cooperatively while following a recipe together.
