The children in Willow Room at The Limes Nursery School have been fascinated by the changing season this week. With the windy weather sending leaves dancing through the garden, there has been plenty of excitement and curiosity as the children explored the signs of autumn together.
The children have been looking closely at leaves and conkers, noticing their different colours, shapes and textures. They enjoyed creating leaf rubbings and experimenting with leaf printing using paint in the garden, carefully observing the patterns they could see. These creative activities encouraged the children to talk about their discoveries, develop their fine motor skills and express their ideas through art.
There was also great enthusiasm for conker painting. The children rolled conkers through paint and across large sheets of paper, creating colourful patterns and marks. This sensory experience sparked lots of conversation as children commented on the textures, movements and colours they observed.
It has been wonderful to see the children exploring natural materials in such engaging ways, developing their curiosity and confidence as they investigate the world around them. We are looking forward to continuing our autumn learning next week.
