This term we have really enjoyed learning with some new resources in each of the classrooms and especially with a new set of bikes for the garden! We have been really proud of the way the children have been taking turns and sharing the bikes, with some of the older children supporting new skills in our two year olds.
It has been a very wet January and February, and we hope for sunnier weather when we return after the break! We will be inviting parents into the nursery twice next term to celebrate both Eid and Easter! We will let you know the dates once they have been finalised.
Ramadan Mubarak to our families for next week!
We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 23rd February 2026.
Have a lovely half term break!
Safer Internet Day February 2026
We talked to the children in our group times about what their understanding of the internet was, whether they had access to their own device and what they watched or played on it.
It is never too early to start thinking about how children interact with technology and your role in this as they grow older, especially with the more recent use of AI generated content
You might want to think about…
- Limiting their overall screen time
- Whether you watch with them or if they watch on their own
- They want to watch a screen over being involved in other activities
- If what they watch is age appropriate
if they interact with AI such as Alexa – could they be asking a person for help instead?
This website has some useful information and guidelines for parents: Parents and Carers – UK Safer Internet Centre
If you need any help with the above, please talk to your key person.
What We Have Been Doing This Term…
We have been exceedingly lucky to have Laura, from Travelling Light Theatre Company, working with the children every week as part of the Light Up Language Project, in order to support children’s developing communication and language skills.
Laura started off last year by coming in and spending time with the children in both classrooms and in the garden, getting to know them, their play and their interests. Laura will be with us for the rest of the school year which will really help us to see the impact of her work with our children and how we can implement some of the strategies she uses to engage them when she isn’t here!

The children have been able to express themslves through dance and movement. Laura mirrors their actions and movements to create ‘conversations’ with body and sounds. We look forward to seeing the project develop throughout the rest of the year!
