The children this week have been exploring the jungle through our core book “Walking Through the Jungle.” We have been creating animal artwork in the garden for our friends to find whilst singing the story, combining art, music, and outdoor exploration to bring the narrative to life in creative ways.
We have been sharing and retelling the story through our Helicopter Stories session, giving children the opportunity to become storytellers and actors whilst developing confidence in narrative and performance.
The children also watched a non-verbal story and were able to follow the narrative and answer questions about it at the end, demonstrating their understanding without relying on words. Following this, the children were confident to independently share their own non-verbal stories with their peers, using gesture, expression, and movement to communicate meaning. Well done!
