It has been a busy and exciting final week of term in Willow Room at The Limes, with plenty of opportunities to explore autumn, celebrate our identities and develop new skills through play.

The rainy autumn weather has certainly not stopped the children from enjoying the outdoors. They have had great fun splashing in puddles, brushing away the water and getting stuck into some BIG cleaning! These experiences encouraged the children to be active, work together and explore what happens when they move and manipulate water in different ways.

Autumn exploration continued in our mud kitchen, where pumpkins provided lots of opportunities for investigation, both inside and out. The children were able to look closely, touch, explore and get curious about this seasonal favourite.

As part of our learning for Black History Month, the children have also been exploring their identities through dressing up. This supported conversations and play around who we are, helping children to develop their sense of self and an appreciation of the people around them.

Finally, as we prepared for a visit from the school photographer, the children had a go at being photographers themselves! They enjoyed taking photos of each other, giving them another fun way to explore technology, communication and self-expression.
