This week in Rainbow Room at St Werburgh’s Park Nursery School, the children have been making the most of the garden and enjoying lots of outdoor learning. They have been exploring with colour in different ways and having great fun on the new bikes. As they practised using their legs to push themselves along, they were developing their physical skills, coordination and confidence.

The children have also been learning how to take turns by using a sand timer. This has helped everyone to understand when it is time to wait and when it is their turn to have a go. The children have responded really well to this, showing growing patience and consideration for their friends.

Inside, we have been enjoying lots of action songs led by the adults. The children enthusiastically joined in with marching, hopping, skipping and even walking backwards around the room. They were highly motivated to use their bodies in different ways, supporting both their physical development and listening skills.

We have also loved singing Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, helping the children to identify different parts of their bodies. The Wheels on the Bus has been a popular choice too and has formed part of our song selections linked to Black History Month.

Another lovely week of learning, movement and fun in Rainbow Room!
