Children in Red Class at The Limes have continued celebrating Black History Month through sharing stories, singing songs and having meaningful conversations about what makes each of us unique. Looking at themselves in mirrors encouraged children to notice and talk about their own features, helping to build confidence, self-awareness and a sense of identity.

As the seasons begin to change, children have also been exploring signs of autumn. They discovered lots of fallen leaves in the children’s kitchen area and enjoyed examining the different colours, shapes and textures. The leaves inspired some creative artwork, giving children opportunities to express themselves and experiment with natural materials.

Singing times have continued to be a popular part of the day. It has been wonderful to see children growing in confidence as they join in with familiar words and actions. These shared experiences support communication and language development while helping children to feel part of the group.
