With winter on the way, now is a great time to think about flu vaccination for your family. The NHS recommends the flu vaccine for young children, and this year we wanted to share some helpful information for our families.

Children aged 2 and 3 can get the flu vaccine at their GP surgery or at a pharmacy that offers NHS children’s flu vaccination. The vaccine is given as a simple nasal spray, so there is no injection needed. It has an excellent safety record and has been given to millions of children worldwide. As well as protecting your child against flu and serious complications such as bronchitis and pneumonia, vaccinating your child also helps protect more vulnerable friends and family around them.

If you are pregnant, the flu vaccine is also recommended for you. It can be given at any stage of pregnancy, helps reduce the risk of premature birth, protects your baby in the first few months of life, and helps reduce the risk of severe complications during pregnancy.
