Yellow Room at St Werburgh’s Park Nursery School has been learning all about our bodies this week, and the children have been getting to know themselves in some lovely ways!
The children have been naming different body parts and working out where they belong, building their vocabulary and understanding of their own bodies. They have also been thinking about how they are feeling and noticing what those feelings do to their bodies, which is an important first step in learning to understand and talk about emotions.
Following the children’s love of superheroes, we then talked about our own strengths, just like superheroes have. The children have been naming what they are good at and finding out more about each strength, which has been wonderful for building confidence and a positive sense of self.
