This week we have been led by the children’s exploration with junk modelling and made a workshop in our undercover outside space. The children have been able to plan and create their own designs, developing problem-solving skills and creative thinking whilst learning to envision and construct their ideas. We are keen to continue to develop their skills in this area, building on their enthusiasm and growing confidence.

Our core book for the next two weeks is “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” The children have had picnics with the bears, pretended they were the bears themselves, and helped to retell the story, engaging with the narrative through multiple forms of play. This active involvement with the story helps children understand character, sequence, and narrative structure whilst building their storytelling confidence.

In the garden, we have harnessed the power of the wind by making flags to feel and see what the wind can do. This exploration helps children understand this invisible force through visual and tactile experience whilst discovering the properties of air movement and weather.
