We have been celebrating Road Safety Week this week, learning important skills for staying safe near roads whilst having fun with active outdoor play.

We introduced our new bikes to the children, who have been learning how to ride them safely whilst turning corners, navigating space in the garden, and taking turns. This physical activity develops coordination and spatial awareness whilst teaching children about sharing resources and being considerate of others.

The children have made road signs and traffic lights for other children to follow, creating the infrastructure for their play whilst learning about the important symbols that help keep us safe on roads. We have practised crossing zebra crossings and saying thank you to the children waiting, developing understanding of pedestrian safety and the importance of patience and politeness in road situations.

These hands-on experiences help children understand real-world road safety in an engaging and memorable way.
