This week, the children have been watching the builders who are helping get the new classroom ready, observing real-world work and learning about construction and the building process whilst developing their understanding of how spaces are created and transformed.

We have been hanging autumn leaves on the washing line using pegs, developing fine motor skills through the precise action of opening and closing pegs whilst creating a beautiful seasonal display. The children have been weaving ribbons in and out of the trellis, practising hand-eye coordination and developing spatial awareness through this intricate threading activity.

We have been taking risks with the obstacle course in the wet weather, building physical confidence and resilience whilst learning to navigate challenges in different conditions. This outdoor play in all weathers helps children develop their gross motor skills and understand how to assess and manage appropriate risks.
