We have been exploring all the beautiful autumn leaves in our garden, connecting with the seasonal changes around us. The children have been noticing the various colours and from this we threaded leaves onto ribbons to decorate our tree, creating a collaborative natural artwork whilst developing fine motor skills through threading.
The children have been printing with the leaves to make colourful fireworks, using natural materials to create celebratory artwork and discovering how leaf shapes create interesting patterns and textures. When listening to firework sounds, the children have been moving and making large and quick movements just like their favourite fireworks, expressing the energy and excitement of bonfire celebrations through physical movement and creative dance whilst developing body awareness and coordination.
