This week in Green Room a big interest which we are developing in the garden is dressing up role play. Children have been selecting materials and resources to create an outfit and take on an imaginative role in their play, exploring identity and storytelling through costume whilst developing independence and creative thinking.
We have thought about the colours and sounds fireworks make and are creating pictures based upon what children have noticed, connecting their experiences and observations to artistic expression. Children have combined different media and resources to create their pictures, experimenting with materials and techniques to represent the dynamic movement and bright colours of fireworks. Their pictures have been very effective, demonstrating their ability to translate real-world experiences into creative artwork!
