Helicopter Stories Launch
This week in Red Class, we have started our core experience, helicopter stories, which enables children to share a story and then perform it with their peers. Lots of imagination has been used, and interesting characters have been created. We thought about how the characters might move and talk with others, developing children’s narrative skills and dramatic expression. Lots of children were keen to share their own made-up stories, showing wonderful confidence in their storytelling abilities and creative thinking.
Diwali Celebrations
We were also able to watch a Diwali performance which has helped us learn about the celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights. This has supported conversations where those who celebrate Diwali at home have been able to share their experiences with the other children, strengthening our understanding of diverse cultures and traditions within our nursery community. We will be continuing our Diwali celebrations next week.
