It has been a wonderful week in Willow Room at The Limes, packed with new experiences and some very exciting discoveries!

We had a special visitor this week, Claudia from The Children’s Kitchen, who came in to make pancakes with the children. Everyone had a chance to add the ingredients and mix the batter together before tucking into their pancakes with a little squeeze of lemon. The children loved exploring the ingredients and working as a team, and it was a fantastic opportunity to develop early maths and science skills through measuring, mixing and observing changes.

The gorgeous weather has also sparked a brilliant new interest in minibeasts! The children have been heading out into the garden for minibeast hunts and have been absolutely delighted to find worms, millipedes, slugs and woodlice. Alongside the excitement, we have been talking about how to treat living creatures gently and carefully, which has led to some really thoughtful conversations. Back inside, we have introduced some minibeast small world toys which have inspired some lovely imaginative play. We will be continuing to follow this interest next week, so watch this space!
