The children in Rainbow Room at St Werburgh’s Park Nursery School are beginning to settle in beautifully, and it has been lovely to see so many happy faces enjoying their new environment. As the children become more familiar with their surroundings, they are growing in confidence and building new relationships through their play and daily routines.

Much of the week has been spent exploring the garden, where the children have been enjoying water play, riding bikes and testing their balance on the balancing beams. These experiences support children’s physical development while encouraging curiosity, confidence and problem-solving as they explore the outdoor environment.

Music and movement have also been a big hit, with Sleeping Bunnies proving to be a particular favourite. The children have loved joining in with the actions alongside their friends, lying quietly before jumping up and moving around together. These shared experiences help children develop listening skills, communication and social connections.

There have also been some lovely quiet moments outdoors, listening to the birds and carefully watching mini beasts crawling beneath the logs. The children have shown great curiosity as they explore the natural world around them and notice the small details in their environment.

Inside, the fun has continued with building blocks and construction play. The children have been working together to create ramps for different toys, experimenting with what works best and sharing their ideas. Imaginative play has also been flourishing in the home corner, where children have been enjoying cups of tea together and creating their own stories through role play.

What a fantastic week Rainbow Room has had, full of exploration, learning and new friendships.
