This week in Red Class at The Limes, children have been enjoying exploring the signs of autumn in the garden. They have been looking closely at the colourful autumn leaves they discovered outside, as well as spending time observing and caring for our moss garden indoors. These experiences have encouraged children to explore the natural world around them, ask questions and share their observations with friends and adults.
The children have also been busy in the kitchen. Together, they made bread and many enjoyed sharing what they had made with their peers. Some children took part in Children’s Kitchen, where they carefully cut fruit and vegetables to make a healthy salad. These experiences supported children to develop their independence, practise new skills and work alongside others.
This week we have also been thinking about our feelings and talking about things that make us feel happy or sad. The children have been sharing their ideas, listening to each other and learning more about their own emotions and the feelings of others.
Many children are continuing to settle into their key groups and are getting to know their friends and adults in the Octopus, Chinchilla and Sunshine groups. It has been lovely to see new relationships developing as children build confidence and feel part of their group.
