Orange Room at St Werburgh’s Park Nursery School has started the new year in full swing, with children returning for their first full week together. It has been wonderful to see everyone settling in, building new relationships and getting to know one another by sharing their favourite things, as well as their likes and dislikes.
This week, the children enjoyed reading the story Zoom, about a brother and sister who do everything in a hurry. The story sparked lots of conversation and imagination, with children acting out different actions from the book and developing their confidence in expressing ideas through movement and play.
One of the highlights of the week was action painting, both indoors and outdoors. Children loved exploring different ways to paint while on the move, using their creativity and developing their physical skills as they experimented with colours, marks and patterns.
The children have also been getting used to the daily routine and warmly welcoming some new friends into Orange Room. It has been a busy and enjoyable week, and we are looking forward to continuing our learning around Zoom next week while beginning to explore the beautiful colours of autumn.
