This week we have been focusing on our core book “Shark in the Park” by Nick Sharratt, which we will continue to look at next week to learn about the rhythm and rhyme as well as the basic story structure. This repeated reading approach helps children become familiar with the language patterns and predictable text whilst building their confidence with storytelling.

The children have enjoyed being the main character, looking through the telescope and acting out the story in the small world area, bringing the narrative to life through role play and imaginative re-enactment. This active engagement with the story supports children’s comprehension and allows them to explore the narrative from different perspectives whilst developing their communication skills and creative expression.
