Children in Willow Room at The Limes have been getting creative as they explored mark making on a giant scale. From making marks on large sheets of paper to painting in puddles outdoors, the children enjoyed experimenting with different materials, movements and surfaces. Working on such a large scale encouraged them to use their whole bodies, developing their physical skills as they stretched, reached and moved across the space.
The puddles provided an exciting opportunity for children to see how their marks changed and disappeared, sparking curiosity and encouraging them to observe and explore the world around them. Through painting, drawing and outdoor exploration, children shared ideas, expressed themselves creatively and developed their confidence in communicating their thoughts and discoveries.
We have also been practising our tooth brushing routine. Children have been taking their first steps towards developing healthy habits by becoming familiar with the taste of toothpaste and the routine of cleaning their teeth. Using their fingers to explore the process has helped build confidence and prepare them for using a toothbrush in the near future.
