What a busy time it has been in Yellow Room at St Werburgh’s Park Nursery School!

The children have been noticing shapes in the environment around them and using their knowledge to create a variety of pictures. They then set off on a shape hunt around the nursery to see how many different shapes they could find. The children were fantastic shape spotters, showing great observation skills as they identified shapes in everyday objects and talked about what they could see.

The children have also shown a keen interest in different vehicles and learning about the rules of the road. They have been sharing their own experiences of travelling by car and bus, talking confidently about their journeys and what they have noticed. Together, they explored the meaning of the different traffic light colours and discussed directions and road safety, helping to develop their communication skills and understanding of the world around them.

We are also delighted to welcome Claudia from Children’s Kitchen back to Yellow Room on Tuesdays. The children have enjoyed preparing and cooking with a range of fruits and vegetables, exploring new tastes, textures and ingredients while developing their confidence and independence in the kitchen.
