We’d like to offer a warm welcome to all new and returning children and parents and introduce ourselves as the new Assistant Heads at St Werburgh’s Park Nursery school.
I’m Rosie (or Rose) Armistead. I have worked for CBNSF since 2020, initially as a teacher then Assistant Head at Rosemary Nursery. I then moved to St Werbugh’s Park Nursery as teacher and Assistant Head.
Last year I took on the SENDCo role across the federation and I am now joint Assistant Head, SENDCo and DSL with Sam at St Werburghs. It’s lovely to be back in ‘The ‘Berg’ and have the opportunity to get to spend time in class with children again. You will see me every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I will also be covering as teacher in Yellow class every Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.
I’m Samantha (mainly Sam!). I have worked for CBNSF for approximately 15 years now! This was initially as a student teacher, all of those years ago, then class teacher, then Assistant Head and DSL at The Limes Nursery School.
I loved my time at the Limes and had built some amazing relationships with the children and families in the local community.
As of this September I will join Rosie at St Werburgh’s as Assistant Head, SENCO and DSL. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the children and families at St Werburgh’s. You will see me every Thursday and Friday and I will also be covering as class teacher for some of my time.
Lots of work has gone into setting up the new two-year-old provision over the summer holiday’s and we are very happy to open it as Rainbow room (and garden) – a virtual tour of the whole nursery will be on the website soon so you can have a peek.
We also have a designated space for breakfast club and afterschool club in Green room. Durin the day this will be the joint ‘Snack bar’ and lunchroom for Yellow and Orange classes.
Throughout last year the leadership team has also been working hard to create a new curriculum. Please take a look: Our Curriculum – Central Bristol Nursery Schools
The curriculum has been carefully designed with 2, 3 and 4-year-olds in mind. It provides a thoughtfully planned sequence of skills and experiences that support each child’s unique developmental journey, with plenty of opportunities to revisit and practise new skills.
