Class 1 and Class 2 at Rosemary Nursery School have had a really lovely week, learning all about light and shade whilst enjoying some brilliant hands-on experiences in the garden.
The children have been learning that staying out of the sun means staying in the shade, which is such an important lesson for keeping cool and safe during the warm weather. Kelly from Children’s Kitchen also came in this week to help the children make some refreshing cool drinks, picking mint straight from the garden and supporting the children to cut lemons for a lovely, zesty finish.
The children also helped to harvest some herbs, cabbage and celery, which they were then able to give to their parents at the end of the session. It was wonderful to see how proud the children felt handing over the vegetables they had helped to plant and care for over the last few months, a real full circle moment for their growing journey.
