Willow Room at The Limes has been making the most of the lovely weather this week, with lots of physical, outdoor activities designed to support early mark making!

The children have been creating marks in wet sand, experimenting with paint sticks on rolls of paper and getting creative with chalk on the floor, all wonderful ways to build the physical control and coordination needed for early writing. These large-scale, sensory experiences give children the freedom to explore mark making in a way that feels genuinely fun and expressive.

The children have also been developing their physical skills through some elaborate water play, using guttering and a variety of different sized vessels for pouring. Watching the children experiment with how water flows and moves has been brilliant for building coordination, concentration and problem solving.
