This week in Class 2 at Rosemary Nursery School has been full of hands on exploration, creativity and curiosity. The children have been using salt trays to make marks with their hands and brushes, experimenting with different movements and patterns. This sensory experience supports early writing skills, encouraging children to build strength and control in their hands while expressing their ideas freely.

Out in the garden and classroom, the children have been carefully observing our moth caterpillars. They have shown great interest in how they move and what they need to grow, taking responsibility for collecting fresh willow leaves to feed them. This has sparked plenty of conversation, helping to develop language skills as children share their thoughts and ask questions about the natural world around them.

The children have also been busy building models and maps using magnetic tiles. They have worked together to create structures, exploring shape, space and problem solving while collaborating with their friends. These shared experiences support communication and teamwork, as well as early mathematical thinking.

It has been a lovely week of discovery, creativity and learning across the classroom.
