Sharing books with your child is one of the most powerful things you can do to support their language development, and it does not have to mean reading every word perfectly on the page!

We wanted to share this brilliant resource from the Hanen Centre, which offers five simple tips for making story time more interactive and fun for you and your child. From getting face-to-face and letting your child lead the way, to pausing to observe and listen, these small changes can make a really big difference to how much your child gets from sharing a book with you.

Have a read of the handout below and see if any of the ideas feel useful to try at home!
