This week in Class 2 at Rosemary Nursery School, children have been busy exploring a range of hands-on activities that support their learning and curiosity. Through sensory play with coloured water and petals, children developed their fine motor skills as they poured, scooped and experimented with different movements, building strength and control in their hands and fingers while enjoying the calming, creative experience.
Children have also been closely observing their green bean seedlings as they continue to grow taller. They have taken responsibility for caring for the plants, learning that water and sunlight are essential for healthy growth. This has supported children’s understanding of the natural world, encouraging them to notice changes over time and talk about what living things need to thrive.
Alongside this, children have been developing their early maths skills by identifying numbers from 1 to 10 and ordering them. Through practical activities and discussion, children have been building confidence in recognising numerals and understanding number order, laying strong foundations for future learning.
