Children in Rosemary Class 1 have been enjoying a rich mix of stories, celebrations and curiosity-led learning. This week, the class shared the story The Big Hungry Bear, returning to it throughout the week and exploring a range of resources linked to the characters and events. Children acted out parts of the story, talked about what might happen next and used props to support their play, helping to develop language, imagination and early comprehension skills.
We were also delighted to welcome families into the classroom for our Easter stay and play session. Children enjoyed spending time with their grown-ups, sharing activities and taking part in an Easter egg hunt together. These moments helped to strengthen relationships between home and nursery, while giving children confidence as they shared their learning with familiar adults.
Alongside this, children showed great interest in space after learning about Artemis 2, the rocket that launched this week. They asked thoughtful questions, talked about what astronauts might need and explored new vocabulary linked to space and travel. This interest supported children’s understanding of the world and encouraged curiosity, problem solving and collaborative talk as they explored big ideas together.
