Class 2 at Rosemary Nursery School has had a brilliant week, with stories, science and some seriously big mark making all featuring heavily!

The children have been enjoying their core book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, retelling the story using props and bringing it to life in their own wonderful way. Using props to retell familiar stories is a fantastic way to develop language, memory and confidence, and the children have been absolutely in their element.

Out in the garden, the children have been getting creative with chalks, using big, sweeping gross motor movements to make marks on a really satisfying scale. This kind of large-scale mark making is a brilliant foundation for early writing, helping children develop the strength and control they will need as they grow.

It has also been Science Week this week, which has been a wonderful opportunity to get curious about British wildlife. The children have been exploring and discovering, asking questions and finding out more about the animals that share our world — exactly the kind of inquisitive thinking we love to encourage.
