This week we have been reading the story of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” The children enjoyed exploring the story props, acting the story out, and creating a home for the bears, bringing the narrative to life through multiple forms of play and representation.
We also had fun making porridge during our cooking session and added some oats to our messy play for more fun! The children were feeding the bears their porridge because Goldilocks had eaten it all up, extending the story into imaginative role play whilst developing nurturing behaviours and sequencing skills.
We were also creating a map for Goldilocks to find the bear’s cottage, collaborating together whilst developing spatial awareness, problem-solving, and early map-making skills as children represented a journey on paper.
Next week we are closed for half term when everyone can enjoy some well-deserved rest!
