This week in Red Class, we have been busy reading lots of stories. The children have enjoyed sharing their favourite books, building their love of reading whilst developing confidence in expressing preferences and discussing narratives with peers. We have been reading our core book, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” exploring this beloved story about transformation and the days of the week, whilst enjoying the repetitive structure and colourful illustrations.
Lots of children have shown interest in our clay, rolling it, squishing it, and making food. This hands-on exploration develops fine motor control and hand strength through manipulating clay whilst encouraging imaginative play as children create pretend meals and treats, perhaps inspired by all the food the hungry caterpillar ate in our story!
