The children have enjoyed building ramps for the cars in the garden, so we extended this by adding watery powder paint to the guttering and creating exciting marks as they raced down and away. This combination of physics and art helped children explore movement, speed, and colour whilst developing their understanding of cause and effect through hands-on experimentation.
The children showed an interest in building boats in the garden, so we gathered sticks and made fishing rods with string, transforming their imaginative play into real constructions. This activity developed fine motor skills through knot-tying and threading whilst encouraging problem-solving and creative thinking.
We have introduced our new core book, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen, which the children have loved! This classic story with its repetitive language and adventurous narrative engages children through rhythm, movement, and anticipation whilst building literacy skills and confidence with storytelling.
