We have welcomed a new practitioner, Sara, to Red Class. Sara is working Monday to Friday, and lots of the children have been getting to know her through play and activities. The children have particularly enjoyed activities she has led, making “cakes” using pots and making icing, exploring imaginative play and creative expression, whilst building relationships with their new key adult.
During group times, we have been thinking about our names and the syllables in them, developing phonological awareness by breaking words down into smaller sound units. This important skill supports early literacy development.
