This week, our Green 2 classroom has welcomed children who have moved up from the Willow Classroom. It is great that Afroz has moved to Green 2 with the children from Willow, providing continuity and familiar faces during this transition. So far, settling in has gone really well, with children getting to know new friends and adults in their new environment. Next week, we will be welcoming new children into the Green 2 classroom.
Our core book this week is “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,” a really popular story where the repeated language supports ongoing language development and helps children engage with the narrative. We retell the story in a very active way so children can be really involved with the movements that are a big part of the story, combining physical activity with storytelling whilst developing memory and sequencing skills.
In the creative area, children are really persevering with developing their skills, for example, scissor skills, showing determination and focus as they practise the precise hand movements needed for cutting, whilst building confidence in their growing abilities.
