We have been preparing for our Christmas parties next week by making party crowns, creating our own festive headwear whilst developing creativity and fine motor skills through decorating and construction.

The children have been exploring Christmas materials in our sensory area, such as shiny ribbons and bows, alongside other mirrored items, talking about colour and reflections. This exploration helps children understand how light interacts with different surfaces whilst developing descriptive language and scientific observation skills.

We have been bringing Christmas materials such as baubles, bows, and ribbon into the clay to see which textures we can create, experimenting with imprinting and mark-making whilst discovering how different objects leave their unique impressions in the malleable material. This innovative approach combines festive themes with artistic exploration and material investigation.
