Yellow Room have started taking part in Helicopter Stories sessions, an exciting new approach to storytelling and creative expression.
Helicopter Stories is more than just storytelling – it’s a powerful early years approach that develops speaking and listening, builds confidence, strengthens social connection, and supports early reading and writing through shared imagination.
The children were introduced to being an audience, learning to watch and listen respectfully whilst their peers perform. They experienced performing on a stage, building confidence in sharing their ideas with others, and acting together as a group to bring stories to life through collaborative drama. They were fantastic, showing enthusiasm and creativity as they explored this new way of sharing narratives!
This approach gives every child the opportunity to be both storyteller and actor, valuing their voices and imagination whilst developing essential communication skills.
