This week, the children have been busy in the garden, caring for and watering the herbs and vegetables in the allotment, learning about plant care, and developing responsibility for growing things. They have been weaving material and making brilliant marks on the playground, exploring creative expression through large-scale art and developing their fine motor skills through the intricate process of weaving.

We have been adding conkers and pinecones into the playdough and clay, creating patterns and shapes whilst combining natural autumn materials with malleable resources. This hands-on exploration encourages children to notice the textures and shapes of natural objects whilst experimenting with mark-making and pattern creation.
