This week, Class 2 has been using different natural materials to make food in the mud kitchen, developing creativity and imaginative play whilst exploring textures and combining natural resources in inventive ways.

We have been reading our new core book, “Shark in the Park,” engaging with the story’s rhythm and repetition whilst building anticipation and prediction skills. The children have also been washing and eating potatoes that we dug up from the allotment last week, experiencing the whole journey from harvest to plate whilst learning about food preparation and healthy eating.

We are starting to celebrate Black History Month by reading stories and playing with small world people. This supports children’s understanding of different cultures and communities whilst building their sense of identity and belonging.
