Rosemary Nursery School is pleased to share updates from Room 2 as children engage in their early years learning experiences.
Welcoming Our Learning Community
This week, Room 2 has been welcoming back returning children and some new faces too, building their early years education community.
Exploring Natural Learning
The children have been investigating the changing weather outside and talking about the approaching change of seasons, developing their understanding of the natural world through observation and discussion.
Room 2 has also been exploring their allotment, digging out potatoes which they planted before the summer holidays. This hands-on learning experience connects children with growing cycles and seasonal changes.
Creative and Physical Development
The children have been making birthday cakes out of clay, using fine motor skills to manipulate different clay tools. This creative activity supports both their artistic expression and physical development.
Children have been building houses using big wooden blocks and incorporating them into their role play, developing construction skills, creativity, and social learning through collaborative play.
Mathematical Learning
The children have been exploring shapes and how they fit together, with many showing particular interest in connecting magnetic shapes. This mathematical exploration supports their understanding of spatial relationships and problem-solving skills.
We look forward to continuing these engaging early years education experiences with the children in Room 2.
